Richards is a Charlottesville, Virginia-based artist who has worked primarily in printmaking, developing multi-plate color methods in etching and in lithography, for which he received the Virginia Commission for the Arts Grant in 2002. Throughout all of his work lies a playful and restless soul on the prowl for evidence of life's joys and sorrows. In this recent series of figurative works, he explores female sexuality, including issues such as body image and androgyny.
